It's been a while since I've updated focusing solely on Naysa so here it is! She has been doing really well! Her head and neck control has improved immensely, she is able to hold her head up both while sitting and on tummy time. She mimics sounds and faces, is on her way to rolling over, takes rice cereal with no problems and starting to develop more and more of a personality! She is now off caffeine and hasn't had any apnea episodes (knock on wood)her monitor has gone off for low heart rate but we aren't too concerned about that one as we were told she just has a low resting heart rate. Basically when the monitor goes off for low heart rate we just know she is super passed out, lol. Though she still hates tummy time she is bringing her knees in and figuring out she can move forward when she does it so maybe she will be on track with crawling :) We are in the early stages of teething so we've had a very bipolar baby on our hands! Ice cubes are my new best friend. Her vision also continues to show promise, she focuses more, her eyes respond to light and she smiles when you smile at her! Her favorite songs are baby beluga & patty cake, never fails to get a big grin out of her :) We had an appointment today with Dr. Levy for a post op check up & she's doing so well that he doesn't need to see her again until February! She will have a CT in December which is just typical after shunt placement and will have one every 6 months after that. She has this fleshy/boney bump on the back of her head that we were a little worried about but like always, Dr. Levy put our minds at ease. He felt it and said it's the two surgery sites overlapping, along with bone. Since her head shrunk so drastically her plates shifted & are almost all overlapping her skull is kind of like a puzzle right now but as she grows everything should fall into place. Her shunt incisions look good & he is hopeful for no revisions anytime soon but told us what to look for if it does fail or malfunction. She is an amazing baby girl & I can't wait to see where she is in another 5 months :)
