this little piggy...

Naysa is a such a good eater! I went up the NICU this morning to feed her and she nursed on one side for like 30 mins, haha. I switched sides and she went another 10 or so then she was still acting a little hungry so we supplemented with a bottle and she took 15ml before slipping into a milk coma :) We had a little scare yesterday when she had something that resembled a seizure but the nurses and doctors aren't totally convinced it was one. She had a few little twitches but her heart rate didn't drop, it lasted less than 5 mins and she was perfectly alert during and after. She may just have some involuntary spasms but they are keeping an eye on it. If it turns out she does have a seizure disorder it will be well controlled with medication so we will hardly ever see them. Her heart rate has been great with no concerning drops. If it does go down it comes right back up so other than confusing everyone it's nothing to be worried about right now. She had her head ultrasound this morning and things look good. The ventricle that was smaller on the MRI is now a little more visible and bigger which the doctor said could be an early sign on pressure starting to build but if that's the case it will show in the next 24 hours so he will be checking her again tomorrow. She is going for a swallow test today at 1:15 to make sure that when she's eating the milk is going where it's supposed to and not getting into her trachea. They don't think that is happening it's just a standard test for babies with neurological issues. We will be heading back to the hospital at 12:45 to go with her for the test so I will update when I get back. Ok, so now for the cute things :)
Last night Ben and I went to visit Naysa so I could feed her and she was being very impatient when the milk wasn't flowing right away so she started getting fussy and mad at me. We took a break while the nurse went to go get a bottle and I was just holding her trying to calm her down then Ben slid his chair over and started talking to her and running his finger across her forehead and wa la! Instant calmness. It was the most adorable and amazing thing I have ever seen. As soon as she heard his voice she stopped wiggling and fussing. If that's not a daddy's girl I don't know what is :D
