OT/PT appointment
Today went really well :) She had a physical and occupational therapy appointment at Rady's. We weren't really sure what to expect since she's only a month old (tomorrow, yay!!) but we actually learned a lot. The therapist said she's doing a "beautiful" job of developing :) She has good muscle tone in her arms, legs and neck and is as active and wiggly as she should be. The therapist said we are doing a great job with her and she wished she could clone us and have all of her parents as observant and proactive as we are, so that was pretty awesome to hear. We are doing everything we're supposed and didn't even know it! We told her that we noticed Naysa likes to have her head turned to the right most of the time instead of the left if she's not laying on the back of her head. She turned and stretched her head to the left and felt a few tight muscles and determined she has a VERY mild case of something called Torticollis which is a single muscle or group of muscles that are tight or weak on one side of the neck causing a baby to tilt or turn to one side. She said it's very easily corrected with certain holding positions and alternating her head sides when we lay her down. She said it's nothing to worry about, she's only a month old so we caught it WAY early. The therapist also tested her sucking reflex and said it's "very very strong" so all in all it was a good appointment. We will be going twice a month to work on her neck.

Yay, Naysa! I look forward to reading your posts. Hearing how well she's doing gives me hope that Liam will do the same. <3
ReplyDeleteWell done mummy and daddy, you are obviously instinctive parents, just what Naysa needs. Love to you all xxx
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear these sweet updates and hear how the little "seed" is growing and doing so well. Still praying for her and you guys. I know that being a parent is a privilege and that God knew exactly who to give you. Love from NC.
