After a ridiculous back and forth with Dr. Levy's office, we finally got to see him today! We put together a game plan for surgery and I couldn't be more excited to know we are in the home stretch of being done with surgeries! He put in a referral for us to meet with a Craniofacial Surgeon to correct Naysa's head shape which will also help with the plating. I am very excited to work with Dr. Cohen as he does incredible work and has even been featured on "The Dr.'s" (Dr. Cohen Video ) This meeting will take place before Christmas. Dr. Levy wants to see the bug back in February for a 3D MRI and to get the mold made he will use to cover the gap in her skull. Surgery has not been scheduled but he said to expect it soon after her second birthday. He said wants us to enjoy and celebrate that time before putting her through recovery after surgery, one of the many reasons I love our doctors! The plate he will use is a porous plastic that will encourage the bone to grow over and eventually become her own. We are so very blessed.
