So proud :)
I am so very proud of the progress she is making. We started vision therapy today and the therapist was impressed with how she responded to faces, sounds and toys! She is swatting at, reaching for and mouthing toys! :D This is a new development and I couldn't be more excited. We are getting there. Slowly but surely she will catch up. I don't know if parents of a typical child are over the moon when their 6 month old shows interest in a toy but to us, it's a milestone. I sit here and look into her big blue eyes and innocent porcelain doll face and I can't help but tear up. We've come so far..SHE'S come SO very far. I am so thankful. She will continue vision therapy once a week and I can't wait to see where she is a month from now. We've also been working on sitting up unsupported, that's a work in progress due to her thinking it's a game! lol. I set her up with a pillow behind her for the inevitable fling back. She sits up for a few seconds then weee! Half the time when I go to sit her up again she doesn't even wait, it's an immediate arms up and throwing herself back followed by a mischievous smile..sometimes accompanied with a giggle. She is her mother's daughter :p The rolling over is still halted with the arm getting stuck but hopefully we will get some tips for that at tomorrow's OT. She's getting the hang of eating from a spoon and starting to open her mouth when she sees it coming :) All in all she is doing really well and I will continue to spend my days stimulating her as much as I can without overwhelming her. Well, it's someone's bath time...let the bed time routine begin!
