PT Eval
Today was a Physical Therapy evaluation. It's much like the OT she already goes to because she's so young there's not a whole lot of different things they can do, but they do look for different things. The physical therapist said Naysa is at the level she should be for a 3 month old as far as alertness, muscle tone, etc. But, she is at the level of a 2 month old as far as her head control and neck muscles. I told her how I think she just has excess fluid that makes her head heavy because she used to be able to hold her head really well before it started getting bigger. She said if (more likely WHEN) she gets a shunt having her catch up developmentally won't be a problem :) When we came home I noticed her head looked a little bigger to me so I measured it. At her last neuro appt 5 days ago she was measuring 38 and today when I measured it was almost 40! I called the neuro and the resident doctor that was there told me to just keep an eye or her then asked about her eye appointment. I told him it isn't scheduled until August and he wants her seen before the 29th for her appt with Dr.Levy so he is going to get it moved up to this or next week! He said the neuro eye doc will be able to tell if there is pressure on her optic nerves which will be helpful to them as well. I am very excited her appointment is being moved up and things are starting to move along instead of this wait and see crap.
